Joint, blunt, spliff, pinner. You’re probably familiar with the first three names, but what is a pinner? A pinner is slang for a thinly rolled cigarette that contains a small amount of weed. It gets the name ‘pinner’ because of its thin shape that resembles a pin.

Pinner is a slang term for a tightly rolled cannabis cigarette that is slimmer than a typical one. There is no size guide for a pinner, so you can classify different sized slim marijuana cigarettes as pinners. They are different than joints because they’re not cone shaped, but rather. straight. Pinners are also evenly packed, and remain as a straight line the entire length. Pinners can also be called ‘percy spliff, pinner blunts, pinner joints, a pin-needle joint, or needle joint.’

How do you roll a pinner joint?

Pinners are a great way to use up small amounts of leftover weed. They can also be ideal for when you’ve purchased an expensive strain that you want to use sparingly. Rolling one is extremely similar to rolling a joint. You’ll need rolling papers, a filter, a grinder, tobacco, and a small amount of cannabis.

Here’s how to roll a pinner

Step 1: Grind your weed

Choose which strain you’d like to smoke and as grind a small amount in your grinder.

Step 2: Position your filter and add a layer of tobacco

Place the filter on one end of the paper and make sure it is steady. Evenly distribute a layer of tobacco along the middle of the paper. Remember, this type of joint is designed to be a straight line so make sure the tobacco is evenly spread out.

Step 3: Put a layer of ground cannabis

Add in a small, even amount of cannabis like you just did with the tobacco.

Step 4: Shape it

Carefully roll the pinner back and forth in your fingertips. Gently press it down so that it takes on a straight, pin shape.  Roll it until the edge of the paper is tightly wrapped around the weed and tobacco. To be considered a pinner, it must be rolled extra tight, so be sure to take this part very seriously.

Step 5: Seal it shut

Lightly lick the glue strip and hold it in place to seal the pinner. See that everything is tight and packed into place. Push the filter into the joint. You can lick one end of the filter to make sure it sticks to the rolling paper and doesn’t fall out later on.

Step 6: Smoke it

Congrats, you’ve now rolled a pinner joint! Time to smoke.
