Actor Seth Rogan has never been shy about his outspoken love for cannabis. He’s now making headlines with his expert advice about ending COVID-19. Rogan has been urging young people to stay home and smoke weed, rather than going out to parties and mingling with others.
British Columbia Premier John Horgan urged Canada born Seth Rogan and actor Ryan Renolds to use their platforms to discourage risky behavior regarding the spread of COVID.
The comedian listened, and tweeted the message, “People of British Columbia! Please do not go out to parties and BBQs and other large gatherings! The COVID is still out there! It’s more fun to hang out alone and smoke weed and watch movies and TV shows anyway! Do that instead! Thank you!”
Horgan followed up by quoting the tweet and thanked Rogan. He linked it to Canada’s COVID-19 information website that urges people not to “pass around drinks, smokes, tokes, and vapes.”
“Now is not the time for sharing anything that’s been in your mouth,” the site from British Columbia’s provincial health officer states.
This isn’t Rogan’s first time using his platform to bring awareness to cannabis use. Last year, he released a PSA that promoted expungements efforts and highlighted issues that occur from having a cannabis related criminal record.
After his mother in law developed Alzheimer’s disease, Rogen became an activist for research about the disease.
