OG #18 Review

OG #18 Strain Review

LA Weeds recently introduced one of their new hybrids, OG #18. I had heard about this strain but never had the chance to try it, so when I saw it on Kushfly’s menu, naturally I had to order it.

Look & Smell

The first thing that I noticed came as a surprise to me. I was expecting the buds to resemble OG Kush, with small dense, dark green nugs. To my surprise, OG #18 has a sativa- like structure and light green nugs with tons of peach colored hairs. When I took a whiff, however, it had that unmistakable sour smell of the classic OG I love so much. The scent started out as a bittersweet, lemon scent but soon took on pungent, earthy tones similar to pine.

Smoke & Effects

Ok, I’ve admired the flower enough. Time for the best part. I chose to smoke OG #18 in a joint I rolled. This flower burned so smooth, and I felt the effects almost immediately, starting with a soothing all around body high, paired by a deep euphoric feeling. I even had a little pain in my neck that quickly disappeared. OG #18 is a perfect mix of a cerebral and body high, increasing focus and concentration while providing a lovely sense of relaxation. A few friends and I shared the joint, and everyone was on the same page. My one friend who is not a regular smoker took one hit and her high lasted her the rest of the evening. This is a powerful strain, so newbies take note. I had enough energy to cook dinner for my friends and play a round of Scrabble, until the deep relaxation finally settled in and I drifted off to sleep. One of the best things about OG #18 is that it doesn’t have any adverse side effects or ‘crashes.’ Sometimes after I smoke, my head will start to pound a bit before bed, but this strain didn’t leave me with any negative feelings or headaches.

Overall Opinion

I would 100% order OG #18 again. I totally enjoyed this flower for so many reasons. It smoked nice, it helped sooth my neck pains, and I recommend it for anyone who is looking for a flower to enjoy with some friends, or relax after a long day. It is relaxing enough without weighing you down, and euphoric enough to even help with minor aches and pains.
