Marijuana Drone Drops Bags Of Cannabis Around Tel Aviv

Yesterday in Tel Aviv, it started raining cannabis from the sky. It may sound like a dream, but this was real life for the lucky people who rushed to pick up as many bags as they could. This was the result of the Telegram group, which advocates for the legalization of cannabis in Israel, with their slogan being ‘free love.’  The group called the marijuana drone the ‘green drone.’ Before dropping the cannabis, the group posted a message that hinted at what was to come.

“It’s time my dear brothers. Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it’s the green drone, handing out free cannabis from the sky… Enjoy my beloved brothers, this is your pilot brother, making sure we all get some free love,” the message read.

“We’re launching the ‘rain of cannabis’ project, that will include a weekly delivery to different parts of the country of 1 kilo of cannabis divided into free 2 gram bags,” the message stated.

The group behind the organization touched on the threat of a lockdown imposed by the government as an attempt to stop the coronavirus epidemic. They stated that the situation, ‘requires thinking outside the box and coming up with new ways of getting cannabis to consumers’ – which is how they came up with the project to begin with.

Although most residents of Tel Aviv may have loved the operation, the police did not. They announced shortly after the incident that they had arrested two individuals in their 30’s that operated the drone.

According to police, the distribution of cannabis is illegal. The suspects who were arrested will be interrogated.
