No one throws a party like Kate Hudson!
The actress celebrated her 40th birthday in style on Friday night, hosting family and famous friends at her home for a night filled with food, fun and even a nod to 4/20.

Kate Hudson has no objection to those who smoke marijuana – because it can be used in “amazing ways.” The star insists that marijuana should be used “to enhance, not forget.” She says, “I have lots of opinions about drugs, ” but hastily adds that ‘hard’ drugs, such as cocaine “shouldn’t be taken, period.” She continues, “I mean, me personally, I’m scared of drugs. But I believe they can be used in amazing ways. And I have absolutely no problem with marijuana.”
The festivities had a star-studded guest list that included Leonardo DiCaprio, Johnny Knoxville, Reese Witherspoon, Sara Foster, Erin Foster, Katy Perry, Orlando Bloom and more.
Kate’s mother Goldie Hawn (who attended with longtime love Kurt Russell) appeared to enjoy the big pink birthday cake, as she had been seen licking the frosting from her hands as noticed in an Instagram post from Derek Blasberg.
“After vacillating whether to do a birthday party for — hmm — about six months this morning @katehudson finally relented and let her buddies take over her house, install a pizza oven and tequila bar, and observe her big 4-0,” Blasberg, 36, wrote.
“It was spontaneous and bohemian and fun and fabulous, just enjoy the birthday girl. And everyone had a finger-licking good time, just like her mom,” he continued.

Stylist Jamie Mizrahi shared a sweet selfie of some of the guests, including Hudson’s brother Oliver, Hawn and Foster.
The wedding girl also shared a social media movie of three champagne glasses toasting, writing,”Full moon rising, Good Friday, Passover, my birthday…do you understand what that means? Neither do I but it seems groovy # Kiva Confections.”
Earlier in the day, Hudson celebrated by sharing the first photo of all her children together.
“My fantasies came true,” Hudson wrote. “Thank you for all of the love today #ThisIs40.”
From the adorable photograph, Hudson could be viewed with her 6-month-old daughter Rani Rose lying on her chest as her sons Ryder Robinson, 15, and Bingham Hawn Bellamy, 7, cuddled up next to her.
Hudson’s friend Gwyneth Paltrow also showered the actress with love having a surprise celebration earlier in the day.
The Goop founder, 46, surprised Hudson having an early morning yoga session along with a party at Alfred Coffee at Brentwood.
“Birthday yoga and a surprise because of my little sister @katehudson,” Paltrow composed on Instagram alongside a shot of the two smiling wide in workout clothes next to purple balloons.
“You exude pleasure and make all fun. Most of us love you a lot,” Paltrow wrote, including the hashtag #lordylordylookwhos40.
Hudson formerly opened about plans for her big day during her meeting on GMA earlier this month, saying that she had been hoping for a “blowout.”
“I personally, with having a baby, feel like I deserve an excellent hangover,” she joked. “I have been so great, I have been so occupied. I have been breastfeeding like mad and I just need some martinis. I would like to sleep in. [That would be] really wonderful.”
She added, “I am just like a last minute type of Aries girl… it will happen. At this point, I just need to tell everybody, ‘Hey, I am gonna have a party,’ and then everybody shows up.”
It seems like Kate and her guests had a great time at her big 40th birthday blowout, with the help of good friends, good food, and Kiva Confections.
