When talking about cannabis, wax refers to a type of cannabis concentrate that’s named after it’s look and texture. Unlike cannabis oil that is pure liquid, wax has a malleable and sticky texture. Wax has an opaque appearance and contains a high amount of THC.

Wax products can range in texture from a more runny consistency to a more solid type of product. More runny wax products take on names like ‘budder’ while more solid wax products are called ‘crumble.’

How to smoke wax with a vape pen

Is it the best way to vape wax? Well, smoking wax with a wax pen is one of the easiest options. This is a good choice for people who are new to smoking wax since it’s super simple and probably the least messy option. Be sure to read the directions on how your individual wax pen works, but the general process is pretty straightforward.

You’ll want to grab a dab tool and take a small amount of wax into the heating chamber in the vape. Than, turn on the vape pen and let it heat up. Simply use the mouthpiece to inhale and that’s it!

Using a dab rig

Another way to smoke wax is by using a dab rig. Dab rigs are ideal for more advanced smokers, as they contain a few different parts that you need to be familiar with and they could cost you a pretty penny.

To smoke with a dab rig, you’ll need a blow torch, a dab rig, and a dab tool. To start, heat up the nail with your blow torch. Heating it for a longer time will produce a hotter nail, resulting in a potent hit that will taste a bit harsh. Heating it for a less amount of time will result in a lower temperature and a lighter hit with a more refined taste.

When it’s heated to your preference, use a dab tool and add a small amount of wax onto the hot nail. Slather it around and begin to draw it through the mouthpiece and inhale.

How to smoke wax with a nectar collector

First, choose which concentrate you’d like to dab. Prepare the wax by placing it on a dab mat or in a dish (make sure the dish cannot be melted since you will be touching a hot metal tip to it). Than, light up the tip of the nectar collector with a lighter or torch until it’s red hot – about 30 seconds. Give it about one minute to cool down, than place your mouth on the other end of the nectar collector and place the tip onto the concentrate. The longer you hold it on the concentrate, the stronger hit you’ll get. Than inhale and enjoy your high.

Adding wax to a joint, spliff, or blunt

A creative way to smoke wax is by adding it to a joint, spliff, or blunt. Get innovative and smear the wax along the outside of your preroll. You can also add the wax in with the flower before you roll up the joint, blunt, or spliff. With each puff, you’ll feel the added potency from the wax combining with the cannabis flower. For an added kick, try rolling it in kief.
