Have you heard the urban legend that drinking bong water will make you high? Not only is this myth false, but it’s also unsanitary and quite disgusting. In this article, we’ll uncover what happens if you drink bong water and why you should never do so.
What is bong water?
Bong water is the water inside of your bong that is used to filter out harmful additives or chemicals in your cannabis so that you get a cleaner hit when you take a drag. Since the water is used as a filter, it’s filled with potentially hazardous chemicals and material that you definitely don’t want inside your body.
What happens if you drink bong water?
If you make the mistake of drinking bong water, you will most definitely not get high. Instead, you’ll be filling your body with chemicals like ash and tar that have been filtered out of the cannabis. You’ll also be ingesting any bacteria from whoever else’s body that you shared your bong with.
Will you get sick?
The effects of drinking bong water are nothing exciting. Since THC and CBD are not water-soluble, it is impossible for the bong water to contain any psychoactive chemicals. Although you won’t get high from drinking bong water, you may get sick.
It is possible for the dirty water to contain mold, yeast, fungi, and other microorganisms that could make you sick. In fact, the water could be so contaminated that it is not recommended to water your other plants with it.
So what should you do with this water?
