A Step By Step Guide On How To Clean Your Grinder

The first step of rolling the perfect joint is grinding your weed to a fine, yet hearty consistency. If you’re anything like us, you’ve grinded A LOT of weed in your life. With great joints comes great responsibility, and that includes cleaning your grinder from time to time.

You might be saying to yourself, do I really need a grinder to enjoy weed? Well, no. You could always break up the nugs by hand, but that gets tedious, sticky, and a little frustrating if you’re smoking a few joints a day.

If you are looking for a good grinder, we recommend the Sharpstone Grinder.

Reasons Why You Should Clean Your Grinder

-Prevents germs from spreading

-Grinding your weed improves potency, taste, and sm iell

-Ensures The Smooth Operation Of Your Grinder

-Helps extend the life of your grinder

You may be asking how often you should clean your grinder? We recommend cleaning it about every 30 to 60 days, depending on how frequently you use it.

To clean your metal grinder, make sure you have the following tools..

  • Isopropyl alcohol (for metal grinders)
  • Hot water
  • Freezer (optional but highly recommended)
  • Large plate or plastic cutting board
  • Container to hold the kief
  • Toothbrush or soft paintbrush
  • Toothpick, metal pick, or dab tool

How To Clean Your Grinder

Step 1. Disassemble Your Grinder

Take apart your grinder and separate them into as many pieces as possible (without breaking it of course).

Step 2. Place the pieces in the freezer

Place all the pieces of your grinder in the freezer for 30 minutes. This will harden all the sticky plant matter that’s clinging to the surface of your grinder.

Step 3. Brush, Tap, & Scrape

After you remove your grinder from the freezer, hold them over a plastic cutting board and tap them gently against your hand or the surface of the cutting board.

Brush all the surfaces of the grinder with a toothbrush or soft paintbrush. We are talking about a watercolor paintbrush in this step, not a wall paintbrush.

Be sure to keep all the discharge that came off your grinder. This is some seriously good stuff that you definitely want to add to a joint later.

Step 4. Clean it with alcohol

Submerge the pieces in a bowl or plastic baggie of isopropyl alcohol. This will kill any bacteria that might be hiding in the cracks. Let everything soak until the alcohol becomes a light brown color and all the residue has come off the grinder. Then, place all parts of the grinder on a clean towel and let them dry.

Step 5. Reassemble and enjoy!

Once all the parts are dry again, it’s time to put it back together! You can now enjoy your freshly cleaned, shiny grinder! See, wasn’t that worth it?
